So i read in an interview that the new game will focus on character 'growth' and that your choice of weapons will have a great effect on how you play. SE has also said that there are some hidden clues in the games' logo as to how the new 'growth' mechanics will work-
...ok I dont see it either....
alright, so this particular picture doesn't tell me anything about your character's growth, though it is suggestive about the game's battle system, rather, how fights may take place. notice how the characters and weapons are aligned; circular, pointing in all directions. now, what i'm thinking is that actual fights are more involved and unexpected, and that you can now get attacked from every direction.
i'll set the scene:
you and your party are on a boat, spread out, and suddenly, SPLASH!
a monster comes up and jump ship, attacking you with his homies
you and your party get drawn towards the center, backs towards each other forming a circular battle formation to help prevent your comrades from getting attacked by multiple enemies
then you guys face off in an epic battle.
this scenario may not need you to be in a party as SE stated that gameplay will be suited for both solo and community play, so stupid things like the "call for help" buttom may not be needed, adventurers everywhere are able to assist in random attacks, so team efforts during random attacks are essential to your survival
also, as i mentioned, battles may be more random as there are no levels per say. aggressive monsters will not hold back because of your level differences (i've always thought it was stupid when beastmen "hated" us smooth skins and would aggro and beat us to death when we were weak level-wise, yet leave us alone when we were levels above them...unless we were resting. it was pathetic, if aggressive mobs hated us, i would rather have them attack me instead of leave me alone because i'm impossible to gauge when theyre too weak.
lol, god i dont know if that last part made sense....hopefully it did
[edit] in short- different battles call for different tactics; battles will be more involved and strategy will play a greater roll than having a basic setup of a tank, dd/support, and healing.
